For example, the Jabberwocky and the Tweedles are actually from the second book. (That entire passage I just wrote sounds very Wonderlandish, huh?) The second of Carroll’s book’s picks up six months after Alice returns from ‘Wonderland’. But then other parts were completely opposite from Carroll’s story, and yet more parts of the movie were either newly-created or mixed in from the other “Alice” book, “Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There”. I think the plot has been confusing fans because parts of Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” were very accurately depicted in Tim’s first movie.
“Alice in Wonderland” was directed by Burton five years ago and featured several big names, including his two favorite movie cohorts: Johnny Depp and Tim’s now ex-wife, Helena Bonham Carter. I mentioned in a post about two weeks ago, that this movie was on the list of new live-action Disney movies currently ‘in progress’, but no once could quite figure out how the story line was going to work. But I do love Tim Burton movies, which includes “Alice in Wonderland”. That’s me, being honest so I hope you’ll forgive any incorrect information and please feel free to correct me in the comments! I haven’t even seen the Disney cartoon version in probably two decades. Now before I even start to pontificate on this, it has been a very, very long time since I read the books. Among the festivities, the plot and posters for the Tim Burton sequel, “Alice Through the Looking Glass” have been revealed. As I posted the other day, August is a big news month for Disney fans, because lots of things get announced or leaked during the D23 Annual Convention.
